Purchased this Aspire A515-51G-55KY i5 8th Gen nearly 2 years ago. Today while working it shut down automatically. Power button is not working, even if it's hold for long, not responding where the machine tries to boot if any other button is pressed but shuts down within a few seconds. Funny thing is that if I keep that (any) button pressed except for the power button, it boots and I can continue using the laptop, but if I take my finger off, the machine shuts down again. Attaching the adapter did not make any difference. It is under extended warranty. Please help me out..

Try the below step if possible , still if you have issue than you need to contact Acer

power drain: Just check the back of the unit, you can find a pin hole , unplug the charger and turn off the unit. now put a paper clip in the small pin hole and press and hold it for 30 sec.
BIOS default: After power drain is done, power on the unit, but as soon as you power on the unit keep pressing the F2 key so that it take you to BIOS page. Press F9 and press Enter than press F10 and press Enter. the unit will restart
