Hi all,

I was using my laptop last night and shut down (via windows) when i was finished. The power cable was left plugged in and AC power was on. When I woke this morning I thought I'd use it while having brekky and removed it from the power and then tried turning the laptop on. Nothing, it was dead. I then got my power adapter, plugged it in and turned it on. To my relief it powered on. While it was on I tried removing the power cable, the laptop immediately died even though Windows 10 said it was at 100% battery. I then restored power and turned the laptop back on again and let it run on power for a while. At this point I again tried removing the power cable and this time the laptop didn't die. I have four questions:
1. Why would the laptop have died the first time when Windows was saying the battery was 100% charged?
2. How could the batter have discharged overnight (if it did), when it was plugged into an AC power all night?
3. Are there any utilities / bios settings I need to look at that can help me resolve this issue?
4. Can Windows somehow report the wrong battery level?

Thanks in advance.

One more curious observation to add. During the time it took me to write this post and run a few google searches I decided to unplug my laptop from the AC power and see what happens. It seems to be back to normal. Currently the battery is reporting a charge level of 99% with 5hr 34min remaining. Really confused as to why it refused to power on first thing this morning without having it connected to power. Any help would be very much appreciated. It's my first gaming laptop which has replaced my old desktop PC. Any hints to extend the battery life / care for the battery would also be appreciated.

    Thanks everyone.
