Recently purchase new Aspire xc-866 but have no sound. Checked device manager and no sound, video, game controller root. Dowloaded driver from ACER website, installed and still no root on device manager. Called Acer customer service. Told me to do a factory reset. That's not happening as i would lose all my data. Any suggestions. First Acer. Not impressed.

    1. In the search box on the taskbar, type audio troubleshooter, select Fix and find problems with playing sound from the results, then select Next.
    2. Select the device you want to troubleshoot and then continue through the troubleshooter.

choose your device in the audio troubleshooter

You can also launch the troubleshooter from audio Settings. Select Start  > Settings > System  > Sound  > Troubleshoot

Check BIOS to see if onboard audio was disabled.

What speakers are installed? Can you test with a headset instead?

I am using Logitech z-313 speakers. They worked fine prior to my new computer purchase.
I have tried using headphone and using every jack available
    Thanks.
