Brand New Chromebook R11 is sluggish and freezes often.

My brand new Chromebook, got it in the mail YESTERDAY, is running slower than my mom's old dial up computer. Most of the time it runs okay, albeit fairly slow (especially the lag on the touchscreen). But sometimes it just plain doesn't run at all. It'll "open" a webpage, but it'll be a blank page. Reloading it, closing it and trying again, nothing works. When it freezes like that, I have to restart the computer completely to get it working. It's incredibly frustrating!!

When I open my task manager, there's TONS of stuff running that I can't close. I don't know what it all does, honestly. But when I go to my extensions in Chrome, the only ones there are the offline docs ones. I deleted those but I doubt the two or three standard extensions are causing the slowness.

I'm about ready to send this thing back to the seller. I'm insanely frustrated with this whole experience. Someone please help!!

Yeah, it should be as slow as you describe. Which OS version is installed? 79? 80? 81?

    I just checked and it's 81.

But I mean in the course of 36 hours I had to reboot the thing like 4 or 5 times. I don't mind slow, but that was just ridiculous. If this is what it's going to be like, it's definitely going back.

    Hi everyone,

Please try switching chrome://flags/#ui-disable-partial-swap to Disabled.
