I have an Acer Aspire E1-731 that has a non working web cam. The camera worked when I bought it but now it doesn't. There is no listed driver installed (the imaging area of device manager does not show up). I cant find any driver on the acer site. Anybody know where I can find a driver? I have windows 7.

If no imaging device is listed in DeviceManager, and there are also no red or yellow warnings, then the video-cam ribbon cable has probably developed  a trace break in the hinge area from the wear and tear of opening and closing the lid too much. You probably need a new video cable. Google e1-731 video cable. Less than about $25USD. Jack E/NJ

I also found out when restoring Skype that I don't have a working integrated camera not even in Device Manager. I also tried the settings in the registers according to the advice, but it didn't help. I'm just a retired 70 year old amateur. I'm trying to replace the video cable, because it's a very likely cause. well thank you
