I have updated to windows 10 and my wifi adapter is now missing. I downloaded the drivers from the Acer website and installed successfully but the adapter is not listed in either the bios nor in Device manager. I tried function F3 with no result.
Any suggestions?

Check in Device Manager with show hidden devices on. Are there any unknown devices showing?

You are correct. I did find the Qualcomm Atheros NIC in Device Manager hidden devices. But under general properties it states "Currently this hardware device is not connected to the computer (code 45)." This is an internal devices and is always connected unless you use Fn + F3 which I tried. I checked on updating the driver and it states that the current driver is the best one for the device.
At this point I know that the system sees the NIC and it has the correct driver for it but why does indicate that it is not connected?
