I have a Nitro 5 AN515-43. I am trying to add a 2.5" SATA drive.

The documentation that came with the laptop said go to http://go/acer.com/hddupgrade for more info.
Under the English option, my model does not show up, only:
I tried to follow the instructions for the -54 since the manual for the laptop has both the -43 and the -54 listed on the cover.
Everything seems to be good until I try to connect the SATA cable to the motherboard, there is no connector on the mother board, at least not one I can see anywhere.

Any ideas?
One of the reasons I bought this laptop is because it said you add a SATA drive.

On my picture the white part of the connector can opened then plug the cable and close it. On your picture as far as I can see is black. It opens to the MB direction.

In case you have a caddy and you are missing the sata cable you have to order it from Acer or from reseller, if you don`t have both you have to order hdd kit.

batmalin, I have the cable, the problem is there is no connector on the motherboard to plug it into. The connector is not where the document on the shows it at and there is no connector on the motherboard within reach of the cable.

You have been more help than Acer support has :)
But the problem is that the SATA connector on the motherboard that he uses in this video is not present on my motherboard.
I took a photo of my motherboard and compared it to the video.
On my motherboard, there is a SATA connector right next to the battery connector, just like in the video, and that has something plugged in already. In the  video there is another connector just to the left (as you watch the video) to first SATA connector, but my motherboard does not have that 2nd SATA connector.

You have only one sata connector on the MB for 2.5` hdd/ssd, however you have m2 sata port + one more m2 port which is pcie/nvme.

Once again, thanks for your help.
I've been a software developer for almost 30 years, but I try not to fiddle with hardware, I just want to buy it and have it work.
This is only my 5th personal personally owned machine since I bought my first DOS desktop back in 1989 :)
BTW, this photo is flipped 180 from the video.

Thanks, now I understand what part of the motherboard you are talking about. Does that connector need something else to be able to connect the SATA cable to it? Because as it is, I can't see how to connect the cable to it. It does not seem to have a slot. The other SATA connectors seem to have a little "lid" that you raise up, insert the cable and then lower the "lid" to secure it.
The cable kit that came with the laptop looks like:

Thank you very much for the help. I spent 2 hours in IMs with Acer, but you were more helpful than they were.
The connector was the right one, but being all one color it did not look like it could be flipped up. I just tried to and it worked.

The drive is installed and functioning correctly.
