Hi! I bought a XB271HU Acer Predator monitor. It is marketed as being able to do 2k at 144hz. But I can't get windows to recognize it, and it won't display at anything more than 59/60hz. Here's what I've done:
  • Installed XB271HU monitor drivers. The latest drivers is windows 8, while I have windows 10. Not sure how normal that is.
  • GPU drivers are up to date.
  • Restarted PC (a lot).
  • Checked HDMI cable (there's no indication whether it's a 2.0 cable though).

I don't know what else I could be doing, or why I'm stuck at 59hz or 60hz. Any input would be helpful.

Specs:
Windows 10
2080ti GPU
Acer Predator XB271HU monitor

    Hello,
144 Hz is only through DisplayPort:
FYI, HDMI version is 1.4 and DP version is 1.2.

God, this explains everything. Sorry, there are limits to my technical knowledge. Such as the capacity of reading all the way to the bottom in the user manual. Thanks a bunch! I'll let you know if there's any more hickups.
