Hi I just received my laptop back from an official repair (crashing/black screen issue). Repaired, replaced motherboard, updated BIOS. Any ideas how to get the keyboard backlighting back on?? (not including Fn + F9)

Many thanks in advance.

@Mike7365 try FN+F10 Your keyboard backlight should brighten each time you press the F10 key while holding FN.

I'm with Mike on this.  Just got mine back yesterday and the keyboard backlight isn't working.  Yes I tried FN+F10, FN+F9, Resetting bios, Predator Sense settings... etc etc.  I'm thinking there's a loose wire somewhere but I don't wanna touch it without knowing which one.

Restart the laptop and as it boots repeatedly tap the F2 key so that it take you to BIOS page. Press F9 and press Enter than press F10 and press Enter. This will restore the BIOS defaults and has been known to fix your backlight issue, it’s worth a try

Just went for it and fixed mine.  Had a feeling it was a loose pin so I made sure all were secure and I'm good here.  Good luck on yours, Mike.  If you try to open it yourself might want a layout to know which one specifically is for the backlighting.

I've tried this, just wondering if it's an issue restoring BIOS defaults as opposed to whatever update Acer did?

With regards to opening up the computer, to be honest I'm worried I'd screw something up so is there anything I should be aware of?

Mike, is that crashing/black screen issue was happening while gaming? Or other conditions? I contacted my country's support for a simillar issue and they told me they wouldnt test any specific game or app for simulate the problem.

It was whilst playing Overwatch, can't remember if it happened at other times but I think it did.

They replaced the motherboard, reset the bios, and sent it back.

Now the keyboard backlight and HDD seem to be disconnected, sent it back 18th of May and still waiting...

The actual crashing problem was 100% fixed the first time I got it back so that's not a problem anymore and no more crashing during ranked games.
