Hi,

I hope someone can help to identify/solve the problem before taking the laptop to repair.

My laptop-acer swift 3- seems to have a  battery/charger problem. I don´t use it very often, I can go without using it for a couple of weeks o more. But, in the last few times, every time I turn it on, the battery drained and it takes very long for it to charge fully. I have also noticed that the battery charge is dropping faster than normally so I had to change the setting for the battery performance to the minimum to see of that helps to speed up the charging and battery life, but doesn´t seem to help much.

I have just uninstalled all the drivers in the battery folder in device manager and rebooted the laptop, but it didn´t work.

Is there anything else I could do before taking it to be fixed?

Thank you in advance,

Try a battery reset if you have the reset hole. Push the switch with a paperclip for 15-20 seconds, release and let it sit for 15-30 minutes. Plug it back in and fully charge before trying to turn it back on. You might also try to calibrate the battery, allow it to run on battery until it shuts off due to low battery (you might have to tweak power options to allow it to keep running), then plug it in and charge fully with it turned off. Repeat the process a couple or three times and see if the battery usage goes back to normal. You might also be having an app that's not laying nice, something that is constantly using your WiFi, for instance, will cause the battery to run down much more quickly, and makes charging while running really slow.
