Just bought an Acer ED272 as an external monitor to connect to my 2017 Macbook Pro using HDMI. If i connect my bluetooth earphone to my mac, it works. However, when i plug my wired earphone to the Audio slot on the back of the monitor, nothing comes out? No options either if i open my macbook's system preference > audio > output.
I feel like i'm missing something here?

    Hello,
Could you give me the first ten characters of the monitor serial number (S/N) and also the part number (P/N)?

Hi I also have the same problem with Acer ED272. I bought monitor today, am connecting to Win10 Desktop as primary monitor but there is no sound. Have connected via HDMI.

I tried the Troubleshoot Sound settings Windows feature, device manager, checked for new drivers etc but the sound does not come through. Checked the headphones and sound is definitely being generated from the PC. The sound level is up on the monitor itself.

My previous monitor played sound with no issues.

    First 10 characters of S/N: MMTD1SA002
    Part number: MC.TD111.005

    Please help!

Which model of ED272 do you have, @Matt101? Some have speakers and some do not. It should be something like ED272 BID or BIMX or something similar.

According to the Acer datasheet, this monitor doesn't have built-in speakers but you should have an audio outupt.
