I have an Acer Aspire TC-105 and I want to put an M.2 SSD in it. I found an adapter which would convert one of the PCIe x1 slots into an M.2 slot. I just want to know if this old motherboard (AAHD3-VC) will recognise the SSD or not

You can put an expansion card like that in, but you won't be able to boot from it. That's the case with modern MBs as well, the expansion cards don't have boot BIOSes on them. To boot from an SSD you will want to put a SATA SSD in with a 3.5" to 2.5" adapter.
