Hi all,

My Acer Nitro 5 is about 1 year and 6 months old and as of 2 days ago the fan started running even when I turn on the laptop. I did a bit of research and using Nitrosense and see that my laptop is now hitting 200F just watching youtube while 150F sitting idlely. I do not think this is normal.

Has anyone else had this problem? My warranty expired just 3 months ago so I would need to find a fix myself.

Thanks in advance!

The Nitro 5 running at 200F is getting to the max and high level of temperatures and is on the verge of turning off for high temps, the Nitro 5 should be around and between 150F to 185F and max at 200F during extreme gaming time but should drop to at least 185F afterwards and not stay at 200F.

What I suggest is to the following:
    1. Open the back cover and take out the CPU/GPU heatsink and fans out,
    2. Clean fans from all dust particles.
    3. Clean all the old paste and repaste the CPU/GPU with Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut paste with the 'pea method' and refit.
    4. Also and if you want to go extreme then, you could modify the back venting and take out the meshing (of every alternative vent slot) that covers the back vents, which will give you extra venting capacity, this is at your own risk and if you are skilled enough to do this?

    5.
Buy a good laptop tablet cooler and always run your Nitro 5 with the cooler.

All the above will reduce your temperatures and you wont have any more problems!
