New Acer B226WL monitor won't connect to HP Elitebook laptop.
I recently purchased the Acer B226WL 22' monitor. It came with a VGA cable to connect to a PC/Laptop. My laptop does not have a VGA port, so I purchased an Insignia VGA to HDMI port. Still, my laptop does not recognize that an external monitor is plugged in. I tried using the monitor with adapter in my friend's laptop and it worked fine.
I attempted to manually download the drivers off of Acer's support website, but when I clicked "Install" on the ICC profile, nothing happened.
It may be worth mentioning my laptop is for work, and I work for a very large global company that has pretty strict control over my laptop.
Any ideas on how to resolve the issue?
