Hello everybody.

I have a brand new Acer Monitor KG241Q, 23,6", 144hz 1ms. I have a simple question:

I bough a new notebook with a 2070 GPU (so is not really low).
This notebook has the following Ports:

1x HDMI 2.0b - 1x TypeC (DP 1.4)

Now: I want to connect the Acer Monitor to the GPU of my Notebook via DisplayPort, so I also Bought an USB-C - DisplayPort cable.
I just connect it but is not working ("Cable Not Connected Error"). So I tried with the HDMI cable to the HDMI port and is working perfeclty.
The problem is I read that if you want to use the 144hz -1ms features you need a Display Port cable and not an HDMI cable, is this true?
Do you know why the cable that I bought is not working on the USB-C port of my PC?

Thank you in advance.

You likely will need to talk to the laptop manufacturer or the people who made the cable. Perhaps the cable need drivers?
