My Acer R11 Chromebook is freezing up, the keyboard doesn't work and I can't hard refresh.

I got my chromebook a year and a half ago and it didn't have any problems. I've dropped it a couple times but it was fine and it ran perfectly. But recently, the screen freezes, the keyboard and touchpad don't work and if I'm watching or listening to something, the audio loops.

I've heard that I need to do a hard refresh, but again the keyboard is not functional. I wait until the battery runs out and charge it and it works again. This has happened 4-6 times this week and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. Is this a virus? Is it broken? Do I need to go and get it fixed, or do I need to replace it?

It's a tough call.. Depending on the actual cause of your issues it might be an easy fix and it might be time to look at a new system. The freeze that breaks the keyboard and touchpad doesn't sound good. Is the keyboard nonfunctional all the time, or does it work when you've done the battery cycle? If it's working some times, do the power wash the next time it's working. If it's broken all the time check to see if an external keyboard will work, even if to only get the power wash going. If you can do the power wash and it doesn't fix things then the problem is more likely to be hardware rather than software.
