Hi everyone, I just recently bought the Helios 300 and whenever I'm downloading something it seems to hog all of my internet speed for the download to the point where everything else is unusable. I get the same download speeds on my desktop without slowing everything else down so i'm wondering why this is happening. It's not just the laptop, everything else connected to the wifi seems to get throttled as well. Does anybody have an idea of what I could do?

JeffreyM seems to me its your router its not capable of the traffic outage or has a setting blocking/limit it  if its a isp owned router they usually do that on purpose if you dont have root user access to all settings you wont probably be able to change them i suggest you to try your device in another network if possible of even get a good router i never had a single issue with my fritzboxes :)

Also also is your desktop also on wifi or ethernet  and if wifi is it the same as the laptop 2.4 or 5ghz ???

@xapim i was afraid it was going to be a router issue, its harder to fix those types of problems :anguished: I have a verizon fios router (MI424WR Rev I) and i can access my router settings but i'm not very familiar with it
It happens on the laptop on both wifi (2.4hz) and ethernet, desktop is only on ethernet. Not going to be able to go out and test it on different networks anytime soon with this quarantine going on right now but i'll keep it in mind, thank you though!

I may have actually found it, i have a Killer Wireless 1550i card and they automatically prioritize games and game downloads to give better performance. I'm going to lower the priority of any games in the killer control center and see if that works
