VG270bmiix The monitor shows "input not supported" until the system boots up. What shoul I do?

I have recently upgraded basicly everything in my computer. I had a problem with "input not supported" after changing the GPU. Everything worked fine with another monitor, so the drivers were installed. Now the issue is that I can't enter bios- the "input not supported" shows until the system boots up and I can enter the password. The GPU is xfx radeon rx 5700 ultra 8GB, the motherboard is msi b450 gaming pro. I tried with different resolutions and refresh rates, also with different cables but it did not fix the problem.

@dindu I've the same problem, same monitor with Radeon RX 5700XT at b450 tomahawk max with Ryzen 7 3700X. Nothing work, only other monitor...

Hello, there are some work-around:

1. Enable UEFI/CSM in your BIOS
2. Change cable to HDMI
3. Disable AMD Freesync

the thing is, I can't enter the BIOS. The monitor shows the "input not supported" message until it gets to windows. So, it skips the part when I could enter the BIOS. I tried with both HDMI and DisplayPort. The GPU does not have the VGA input so I can't test that. I also tried with AMD Freesync disabled and enabled. I wasn't sure what's the resolution of the BIOS, so I also tried with to boot the computer with GPU scaling enabled, so the GPU would do the adjusting and with GPU scaling disabled so the monitor could the the work. Both did not do anything. It's been 7 months now and I'm still struggling. I think I'll just buy a different monitor.

I have similar system with Acer XV253Q, Ryzen 7 3700X, MSI 450 Tomahawk, 1070Ti GPU. And I just spam the key then it displays BIOS just fine with Display port or HDMI.

So it seems GPU specific issue.

Searching around, there's a guy on reddit fixed issue by upgrade his BIOS on Giga B350, can you try that ? (of course with Windows tool)

I've already tried. I updated the bios using another monitor. Switched back to my VG270 and got the message anyway.

A guy fixed by using HDMI to VGA converter, and I see your monitor has a VGA port, it worth a try.

I was facing the exact same problem. It fully ruined my first time PC building experience. I think Acer monitors are incompatible with Gigabyte motherboards( I am using Acer Ha240Y+ Ryzen5 5600G+ Gigabyte B450DS3H Mobo running on IGpu)

For those who want to fix this problem follow these steps:-

Clear bios by removing CMOS battery. Then restart your PC. If that didnt worked then
If your Graphics card has VGA port (If not then buy HDMI to vga converter) then connect your monitor with VGA cable through your graphics card or motherboards video output port if running on IGpu.
Hopefully the issue would be resolved but video output quality would be very bad. To resolve this follow the following steps
Restart you computer and enter to your Motherboards BIOS/uefi by pressing Del or any specific key according to your motherboard.
Then go to Bios tab and Disable Secure boot save it, restart your computer again enter in BIOS then bios tab and ENABLE CSM SUPPORT then click on Stoarge boot option control and then select Legacy only. Now save these settings and restart your computer (you can again enter in bios to check that all setting are saved).
Now remove your VGA cable and attach HDMI CABLE and start your computer. You will get display 100%

You really, really don't want to switch to a legacy boot. In addition to it making it so your system will have to have the OS reinstalled before it will boot it opens you up to all kinds of malware such as rootkits.
