Sata SSD Not showing after install
I have an aspire 7 a715-72g-79r9 (purchased from manufacturer). It came with a 256gig M.2 drive, there is an empty bay on the bottom to add a Sata drive. So being I do alot of photography I wanted to put an additional drive in for extra storage. I purchased a Crucial 1tb Mx500 SSD (model: ct1000mx500ssd1) and put it in the bay. I turn on the computer (Before i knew they were hot swappable) and nothing. The drive isn't even there. Not in BIOS, not in Disk management. I can connect VIA USB to Sata cable and the drive shows. I have sent the computer back two times now and they claim there is no issue with the unit. Their drives work just fine. I had a buddy put in is 128Gig drive in and nothing. What gives?!?! I've updated windows, I've upgraded BIOS, I've used the Crucial Application to format the drive when connected via usb and make sure firmware is up to date. I am really stumped as to why this thing will not recognize the drive! I just want to start using this thing. Its been out of my possession longer than I've owned it! maybe you guys can shed some light on the situation
