Acer nitro An515-52 screw broken

My acer nitro 5 back cover screw has been broken. But acer is not at all accepting to change it. I have taken full care of my product but somehow the screw is broken I don't know how is that happened as the hinge is completely fine and perfect. I think the pressure of the hinge has caused that to break but they are saying that it is a accidental damage how it is even possible that the hinge is perfectly fine but the back cover is broken. And what is the guarantee that after replacing it will not break again because I think this is a manufacturing defect. The acer support is not even responding with a reason that is acceptable. They have just learned the words "ACCIDENTALLY DAMAGE " never gonna buy this company's product again.

Is it the lower case or the screw that is broken? Can you send a picture of the damage?

They are charging me 3200 rs for this because it's a premium laptop. Their service engineer came and said that the back cover screw has been broken while the hinge is alright how can you damage the screws of back cover without even affecting the lower right hinge can anyone tell me how to fix this. I am not going to pay 3200 rupees for this ****.

If the problem was not caused by a fall or the user, I believe that you have the right to repair the notebook under warranty.

i was also having same issue, though i have accidental damage protection,,still after replacing it in December it got damaged again in February this year. 1st acer denied to replace it but then after some discussions finally they replace it again.

I'm sorry to hear that you're running into hinge issues. I can certainly understand the frustration, however, I can assure you that a far larger portion of Acer laptops do not experience this. A lot of research and development go into the hinge design of our products to minimize any issues. Hinges have been failing on clam-shell notebooks for as long as they've been built, and that's not just related to Acer, a quick google search replacing Acer for another manufacture is sure to produce the same or similar results. Unfortunately, the hinge is the weak point in a folding process that also has to be a hollow enough to allow for wires to pass through and not wrinkle them. They take all the stress created when opening the device, but it also has to be capable of moving to allow anyone (think children) to open it.

I have already said that the hinge is fine and the problem is with the back cover screw. The screws in the back cover are broken due to the faulty design of acer. So please don't send these automated messages to us who does not even know what discussion is going on.

Your problem seems to be related to the pieces marked with a black square. However, note that the hinges that are marked in pink, are part of the structure of the monitor.

Yes that black square on the right has the problem. So can you give me a fix for this. Acer support is not helping me in this and saying the pink square hinge is broken and charging me 3200 rupees for that. And it's been just 2-3 months. It did not fall, its screen was not pressed, and it's impossible to break these screws without affecting the hinge because when a laptop falls or has more weight on top the load is transferred to hinge rather than screws of back cover so I will not pay for their faulty design. If anyone has a fix please help me God bless you all.

As I told you before, in my personal opinion (I would like to remind you that I do not work for Acer and I am not an employee of the company), if the problem occurred without the user having dropped or damaged the notebook, I think the technical support Acer in India must repair the notebook. However, this is just my personal opinion. You must send the notebook to the acer service center so that the technician can assess the damage.

Ideally, you should open the screen and check the screw:

But it can make the problem worse. If you have not damaged, dropped or accidentally knocked the notebook, this problem should be resolved under warranty.

The service engineer opened the screen slightly and shown me the broken screws but what after that. What can I do or i should say what should I do. The acer support is not accepting the fault and blaming everything on me.

Bought an after market screen cover and have strengthened it with epoxy. The screw threads in the cover are weak, I carefully applied epoxy around the new screw threads being careful not to let any get inside or raise above the thread. I think the problem is opening the laptop top from one side, meaning pressure will be applied to only one hinge and the screen will flex. Remember to open the laptop top from the middle.
