Does Acer Aspire E5-575G support a PCIe NVMe SSD Disk like Samsung 970 Evo Plus?

Hi folks,

I have the E5 575G laptop and it has gotten really slow lately, so I am thinking about giving it an SSD instead of the HDD it currently has. I found that PCI-connectable SSDs are much faster than SATA-connectable ones. The specifications for my laptop list a free M.2 SATA3 slot, but how is the current HDD connected is unclear. Does it mean that I cannot connect a fast PCIe NVM SSD disk, even if I take the old one out? Also, suggestions as to what is best to do in my case are highly appreciated!

Thank you very much in advance!
