Hi all, I have a nitro 5 (model is Nitro NP515-51) and have recently been expriencing drops in fps when gaming. I read on the support forums that battery should always be plugged in. About 2 weeks ago i brought my laptop out and gamed without plugging it in so im assuming that the laptop sensed that and immediately switched to a lower setting to preserve power. How can I switch it back up? If my assumption is not correct, what could have happened? Thanks in advance

Info: 16.0 GB Ram, processor: Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-7750U CPU@1.80GHz 1.99 GHz. 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor.

I not understand but sounds look like

Your laptop and other modern day laptop designed to play while plug in to get 100% power of your system .without plug in you get 50% of power and may see lag.charging while playing for long time didn't make your battery damaged it designed in this way to play while charging .

If you having low fps and fps drop you might not updated your gpu driver and don't have nvidia software.go through my link i selected your GTX1050 graphic card download software this will update your gpu .(turn off antivirus while installing )

Please follow all my instructions below

Please click YES if I answer your question, thankyou

Make sure you do this below and always game on 100% battery BEFORE gaming and KEEP plugged in while gaming, in your Windows Power plan select High Performance when on AC and in Nitrosense make sure High performance is selected under "AC" tab

    1. Download and install the latest Nvidia drivers from here https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx.

    2. Go to the Nvidia control center and click Manage 3d settings tab, then click the Global Settings tab and change Preferred Graphics processor from Auto select to your Nvidia GPU, do this by clicking the downward arrow to the right of Auto Select and select the Nvidia GPU. Then under the Program Settings tab select the programs and games that you want to run on the Nvidia GPU. Do the same under the Set PhysX Configuration tab

Please click YES if I answered your question

The part about without plug in uses 50% of power, i understand from reading other posts. But if you game without plugging in, then the next day you game whiile its plugged in, will the laptop still be stuck at 50% power or no?
