Hey

Need some help finding compatible RAM for my laptop, I've tried two difference RAM sticks and each time I attempt to install the second RAM stick, I get a black screen. I need to know what RAM is compatible with my laptop and the existing RAM please?

Intel Core i5-6200U
2.8GHz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 950M with 4GB Dedicated VRAM
8GB DDR4 Memory
Motherboard: Insyde Corp. V1.15

Any advise or suggestions on which RAM is compatible with my laptop would be great. Thank :)

    Good night Azen !

    This series supports a maximum of 32Gb (2 slots, 2x16Gb each) So_DIMM DDR4 2133Mhz

I suggest that you use CPU-z to certify yours installed.

Hello and thank you for the reply.

I have included my installed RAM specs below as I'm having real trouble finding compatible RAM to work alongside my existing RAM.

    Thanks again

In this case I recommend that you purchase a bank of RAM identical to the one installed or purchase two others.

Link below is to Crucial and they guarantee compatibility and have tested the RAM for your exact model. You have a DDR4 2400 installed right now so go for another 2400 to match. Crucial is a Division of Micron, which is what you have installed now. You can write down the Crucial part number and order it from Amazon.

This one is the exact match to your existing stick

Your existing RAM is the Kingston DDR4-2400 (1200MHz) part number ACR24D4S7SM8B-8 (search that part number) here is a place where you can purchase that exact RAM: https://starmicroinc.net/kingston-8gb-2400mhz-ddr4-pc4-19200-non-ecc-unbuffered-260-pin-dual-rank-1-2v-sodimm-oem-laptop-memory-acr24d4s7s8mb-8/ and its $37.00. The RAM is the:

    Kingston 8GB 2400MHz DDR4 PC4-19200 non-ECC Unbuffered 260-Pin Dual Rank 1.2V SoDimm OEM Laptop Memory ACR24D4S7S8MB-8 and its $37.00!

Note: If you want 32GB then you would have to buy 2x DDR4-2400 16GB sticks and discard your existing 8GB stick.

Thank you steven, i had used cpu-z and tried to match the ram and part number, finding it was proving quite difficult.
One difference i see from my installed ram to your suggested ram is that mine is showing as single rank, your link is for dual rank. Does this matter, will it be 100% compatible?

Thanks again for your advice on this.

The single rank or dual issue does not interfere with the final gross performance.
