Hello guys, such is the problem, I bought a laptop two months ago ...
Intel core i5, rtx 2060 .. Immediately there were problems with the temperature, namely in games the temperature reached 94-95 degrees Celsius .. Then I wrote in support, they asked to send them a laptop, I sent them, then they told me that the problem was in thermal paste and everything will be fine now ...
I thought, okay, I got a laptop, paid for the "cleaning" services .. Well, in short, I started playing and I see that the effect is zero, the temperature jumps to 94 degrees in any games, even not demanding ones, be it CS: GO or Dota or AC Oddysey, the temperature jumps to the limit ...
I lowered the processor voltage to -0.145, dropped a little, works in the maximum fan operation mode through Nitro Sence .. In short, I don't know what to do, I downloaded the trottle stop program from the link indicated by the guy, with the settings on Intel i5 8300 ... What do you recommend? Can someone give some advice? Will the settings help or write in support? It's just a shame .. I bought a laptop for a large sum and so many problems with it
i dont know what model u have but during summer its normal for the temps to reach 90c for less demanding games(its winter time now so temps should be lower) also maybe ur cooling system is not enough to cool down ur rtx 2060

otherwise it could be that there is something wrong with ur heatpipe and there were instances when company replaces the whole cooling system, the best thing u can do is call customer care request a tech visit to ur home and explain the problem to him and most of the time they r friendly enough to agree whatever u say and probably agree to replace ur cooling system if u show them the temps in less demanding games and convince him enough
the meaning was the same me.  I sent it to the service center, then they returned it to me replacing the thermal paste, and now, with the repeated dialogue, the support agent claims that the temperature of 93 degrees is acceptable for the processor, which confused me most of all, this is an attempt to prove to me that there is nothing so terrible in this.  I would gladly invite, but the service center is very far from me and they are unlikely to want to come to see.

i understand from my experience convincing a tech guy on a onsite visit is much more easier than in service centre
tell me what is ur laptop model
ur idle temp as of now
run cpu stress test on max fan and on auto mode and what r the temps
room temp and the ventilation also plays a major role

how the guy threw the site above where the settings for the stop trotling application, I set the settings to the i5-8300, surprisingly the temperature did not rise above 83 degrees, I’m just not at home now, there is no way to describe everything directly, but I’ll write everything later .. about the settings  in the application, do you know what has changed there?  that dropped the temperature so much?  I would also like advice from an experienced laptop user regarding the cooling stand, there are two choices, which draws air from the system and which blows fans, 6 pieces, which is better to choose?  which blows better, right?

i never used  a cooling pad because i think they dont make any considerable difference but if i use laptop on a table or any flat surface i use spacers to elevate the laptop slightly for good air flow and system fans do the rest
also i dont trust the thermal paste of the service centre so use ur own high quality thermal paste

hey we have the same laptop. Also bought it recently and also reached 95 degrees with Fortnite/COD/Overwatch. I just downloaded the throttelstop programm.

I followed this video (as im not a specialist with this kinda stuff):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfIxf73RGEg

And did basically what he said. Then i took the recommendation in this thread: "-140.6 on cpu and cache"

I just tested it and im blown away. Im constantly under 80 now. Some games even under 70.

Like i said im a total noob when it comes to this and im kinda experimenting here, so no guarantee that this is the right way to do things. But so far so good.

Yes, I'm on a different topic, I found general settings for the processor, almost not my own, but approximate ... At the moment, the temperature did not even rise above 76 degrees ... But the question is, what does this affect?) Well , they say, it obviously makes something worse, namely performance, the question is how much worse is it getting?

I realised that i get a little less FPS in overwatch on ultra settings. Before i was 120 fps non stop now i am more getting like 90fps.
But honestly,I prefer a cool 90 fps gaming laptop than a 95 degree 120 fps gaming laptop. I can't really see a difference between 90 and 120 fps anyway.

All games i tried go on max settings with stable 60 fps, which is def. enough for me.

Hey all, I followed the suggest pre-made set-up's from early given the wide opinion that TS is better than Intel's undervolt program.

Is there any word when an i5-9300H specific verison will release? I can see its been quite a while and I presume the original offer has moved on, but I was wondering as I am using the other i5 premade and I'm wondering if an i5-9300H specific one would given better FPS along with better temps.

I'm using my newly bought Acer Aspire 7 with the same i5-9300H and GTX 1650 Ti, hope my settings help since the cpu is same atleast.

INITIALLY: It never hit the 90° mark, not even 88°C since i got it, this was without undervolting. I always game on Very High/Ultra and always while plugged in. I started undervolting with XTU but it gave me crashes whenever i went any further than -120mv, so i ditched it and tried ThrottleStop. Kept tinkering with the settings and learning with every crash.
Before any undervolting, my Cinebench R15 and R20 score was 766 and 1890 respectively.

CURRENTLY: My current TS settings are... Core IccMax all the way maxed up, Core Voltage Offset down to -225mv, Cache Voltage Offset down to -130mv, iGPU and unslice down by -80mv. That's it! Not using Speed Shift. Now the temperatures are significantly lower, averaging 78°C while heavy gaming, depending on the game. In CoD Warzone, it gets as high as 81° but never higher, and in BF4/BF1/GTA5, it usually stayed around 60-75°C.
After the undervolt, the Cinebench R15 and R20 scores are up to 840 and 2097 respectively. No thermal throttling during any type of workload.

I would try to go further but I'm very satisfied with the current results. Hope this helps 😄
