Touchpad not detected after fresh windows install

Made a fresh windows install last night. During the install process I noticed a number of drivers were not installed. After completing the install and updating windows everything seemed to be functioning as expected with the exception of the touchpad not being detected. The device doesn't appear in the device manager and even after manually installing the drivers on the Acer website the touchpad still is not detected. I read that it could be re-activated in the bios but did not find the option even after updating to the latest bios on the Acer website. I should note mice are still detected.
