Hey, My computer has 8700k and when doing torture test with prime95 smallest FFT s (tests L1/L2 caches, high power/heat/cpu stress) settings the voltage can jump to 1.5 max and temperature can go all the way to 90° with predator sense overclocking on normal. I had to stop the test because got scared that it will fry the cpu. How can the voltage and temp go so high? isn't that unsafe for cpu? Had to do a clean windows install while back could that have something to do with it?

    Good evening MinäMinä !

This processor has a maximum safe TDP of 100ºC
If using stress applications it is perfectly normal for the temperature to reach the limits.

thanks for anwser and help! :) what about the core voltage? i read somewhere that core voltage should not go over 1.2? i have seen it spike to 1.5 under heavy load and idle/watching yt video it goes between 0.6-1.36

It is occurring due to the stress bench that is running.
In such cases it can reach about 1.51
This tells you the maximum level of overclocking possible.
In iddle and high usage, the values must be established until 1.41

If at maximum load it is not exceeding 1.4 then it is safe.

That's not unusual, with turbo on it's going to relax the restrictions that help keep the temperatures down. You might think about revamping the cooling, though it might just be dust in the fins… Also if you haven't repasted the CPU it might be worthwhile to deal with that as well, the thermal paste dries up over time and becomes less effective.

well, no knock-on acer, i love the look and design of their desktops, BUT if every nitro, 3000-5000-7000 comes with subpar cooling, I'm sure the 9000 did also, so yeah, invest in a big air cooler-Noctua NH-D15 or the NH-U12A or AIO of your choice, for your 9000, what did it come with from the factory?

yeah, just like the 7000 series does, and everyone i know that owns a 7000 replaced the factory 120mm aio with a 240mm aio, but you could also air cool it, but it would take a good air cooler, like the 2 Noctua ones i mentioned, i have the NH-U12A in my 5000 and it works amazing, i love it, so you have options, and if you have repasted and it's still running hot then maybe it's time for an upgrade heh, and do you run yours in gaming mode? so, all fans are at 100% that makes a huge difference when gaming and doing benchmarks tests etc, as well as ambient room temps.

yeah, that's def why the temps are so high then, i always have mine in gaming mode when gaming or bench testing haha, and its that single 120mm aio fan causing all your noise, replace that, then run it in gaming mode and see how it performs, trust me on this i know, and if you can afford it, get a 240mm aio or a dual fan air cooler and make sure you have 2 fans up top for exhaust if you go air cooler, like mine, it helps more than you can imagine.
