Hi !  Thinking of changing out my current Predator ( G3-710) and purchasing an Orion 3000 ( version
DG.E1BEQ.001) .  This Predator version  has only 512 gb SSD memory and has no additional HDD . My current pc has 256 SSD and 1 TB HDD.

Can I instore an additional 1or 2 GB HDD or replace the 512 gb SSD with a 1or 2 TB ssd.  I am concerned that this model will fall way short
when the likes of  Cyberpunk 2077 and other updates come along.
I can see that there is a new model on Acer`s netsite that has these improvements but cant seem to find anybody selling them in my area.

Any help appreciated

The Predator G3-710 has the following M.2 SSD: 1 x SATA 3.0 - 6Gb/s slot, its just above the CMOS battery. These are the expansion specs for this board:

    • SATA 3.0: 4
      - One for DVD drive
      - One for HDD drive
      - 3 HDD bays so 2 free
    • M.2 SSD: 1 (SATA 3.0)
    • PCIe X1 3.0: 2
    • PCIe X16 3.0: 1

    Hi,
Yes, you can install up to 2TB HDD, if you like you can install a 1TB M.2 SSD, it should work in my opinion but I haven't seen anyone installed a larger M.2 SSD than 512GB, so you have to install at your own risk.

The Predator Orion 5000 (PO3-600) can handle an NVMe SSD in it's M.2 slot, and there should be no real limit as to size. I have a 2TB NVMe in my GX-281 and that's a much older machine. The same thing goes for a HDD, you have three SATA connectors, one of which is usually reserved for the ODD, and you can put whatever size drive you wish. There are 8TB and 12TB drives out there now. :)

Thanks guys for your comments !  just to sum it up ; if I purchase the new predator 3000 (version
DG.E1BEQ.001 which is the only available version in my area ) then I could easily add an extra 1 or 2 TB "usual" hard disc without any problem ?

     - as I mentioned earlier just worried the 512 SSD thats installed from new will be too little..

much appreciate any feedback I get !
