i have a aspire es1-533 and one of my inges do not move at all    did somebody have the same problem

    @MaClane I think he means one of his "Hinges" is stuck and he can't open or can't close the laptop B)

    Make sure that the laptop is turned off then spray a little and I mean ' A LITTLE' WD40 into the hinge area and leave it for 2-5 min then try to open it slowly, do not force it, if this doesn't work then, undo the bottom case (and all screws) and pry open the bottom case slowly and see if the hinge can be pried open or if its is completely broken. Note: be careful as the case material is very fragile and could be brittle and any exsessive force can break the hinge securing points and case, then, you will need to buy a new bottom case, which is available and not expensive but, its quite a big job to do.

    THANKS for the answer. Unfortunately the case is already broken. Acer is asking $210.00 for repair. The hinge on one side is  jammed.Even with wd40 many times it still jammed.  Is there any recall? it is only 3 years old.
