Acer Nitro Spin 5 enters sleep mode any time I use my Logitech mouse next to touchpad

I have a Acer Nitro Spin 5.  Have owned it for over 18 months now and I'm just now starting to have an issue when I'm playing games. It occurs when I'm using my USB Logitech G502 Hero gaming mouse. When I do play I typically use the touch pad if possible, but also play games requiring a mouse. When I use the mouse, I typically just move it on the laptops surface to the right of the touch pad. There is a certain spot about an inch or two to the right at the very bottom of the touchpad that when my mouse moves over it, my laptop enters sleep mode immediately. I've tried taking the weights out of the mouse thinking it was a magnet issue thinking the screen was closing or something, but the mouse still does it without the weights inside and the metal weights themselves do not make this sleep mode occur. I've asked my friend and he says the same thing occurs with his Macbook but only when he places his cell phone on the same spot but on the left of his touch pad. I know obviously I can find an area with a spot for a mouse pad and keep them separated. But why is this occurring and is there something I'm not seeing? Help me!

If the notebook is suspending when using the mouse next to the touchpad, what happens when you disable this function?

I changed that one setting to "do nothing" to match the picture above. Once changed, my mouse next to the touchpad pops the notification in the top left that auto rotate is on and then in the bottom right it asks if I want to switch out of either tablet or touchscreen or laptop mode, whatever I'm in. It occasionally does go black but it doesnt require as much to get it back, just moving the mouse off the spot instead of bringing it out of sleep. I'm going to try disabling auto rotate and see if this helps.

It seems my "rotation lock" option in settings is greyed out, disallowing me to select it.
