Hi,

I will be adding a SATA SSD to the PH3 17.3”. I am trying to find out what size tools I need, eg. Philips Size 0?

How many screws total to remove the bottom?

Thanks

Phillips #0 for backcover and SSD. Below is from the Service Guide for your model, including the size and torque of the 12 screws in holding the backcover and SSD. It is a good idea to by a small pack of precision screwdrivers

Thank you. Is the warranty voided in the USA if adding the SATA SSD?

No the warranty is not voided in the USA by adding a SATA SSD or uprgading the RAM. In certain countries it is voided and a sticker will be placed over one of the screws on the underside stating "Warranty Voided if Removed" but that is not legal in the USA and you can go ahead with confidence

It is impossible from the Service Guide to tell you that, just buy a small box of precision screwdrivers or as my friend @xapim says a mobile phone repair kit. Both are very cheap

Damned just make sure you always use the proper tools for each screw type and dont damage the screw heads or you will be completely screwed :)
