Hello again,

So a few days ago I posted about a new computer with issues in wifi department, yesterday i returned it for another one of the same model, the exact same. Had no internet disconnection at all until a few minutes ago, it did the exact same thing the other did. WiFi cuts without warning, can't reconnect to it for a minute or so. I did everything I could, updated the drivers, beyond what Windows gave me (a version from July 2019, i installed a version from this January), I uninstalled Norton, I disabled powersaving mode, I made sure my channel wasn't full (I'm the only one in it). I rebooted the wifi card. I don't think my provider is to blame, my phone did not disconnect when the computer did.
Done pretty much everything, except opening it up, cause I don't have that kind of knowledge.
I'm not mad anymore, I'm just desperate, I saved money for over a year to buy this computer, and of course i like some gaming, but I also use this computer to work, I'm a student, working a Master's thesis, and Internet is quite an important part of that work.
I just want a functioning computer, if you guys have any tips, any advice, anything... please.

Good day, and I hope one of you can save me :)

PS : I'm sorry if the language is a bit clunky, English isn't my first language

Which WiFi card have you got, Killer or Intel? Is it the Killer (if its the Killer, then the software could be setup wrongly) let us know and also test your WiFi Nitro 5 AN517-51 in another WiFi environment, like in a public place, library etc before anything else, just to make sure that its your laptop. This is very strange, these symptoms seem like something is blocking the WiFi signal to your card and/or could be a software issue in your laptop. Try to open the back and take the WiFi card (see caption) out and replug it and make sure that all pins are connected, check all the antenna (black and white wires) that they are not damaged and they are pugged in properly to the WiFi card and test the WiFi after. WiFi cards are very reliable and very rarely go wrong like you have described, especially on two diffrent computers.

  • Can you provide the model of your wireless network card?
