What SSD type does my acer Aspire A515-54 support

    Good afternoon Velocity942 !

    I recommend that you open and check your device because some models of this series have 2 M.2 factor 2280 slot.
    Then use AIDA64 to identify the ports.

    The default is that one slot supports PCIe NVMe Gen3x2 only, while the other both PCIe and Sata III

    Your Model supports NVMe PCIe gen 3 SSD, below is from the Acer Service Guide for your model



    See the link to Crucial below, they have tested up to 1Tb and they guarantee compatibility. I write down the part number and buy from Amazon, it is cheaper and faster delivery

    I have the A515-54-55ZD.  There is a bay available for 2.5" storage drive.   My box came with the cable and a 7mm adapter to add in. An SSD would be great here for heavy data.

    Any idea what size NVMe I can add to my slot Please advise
