Added SSD to laptop, now I'm told no bootable device

I've added a new SSD to my laptop, an Aspire ES 15, and used the Microsoft media creation tool to create a bootable Win10 installation USB.

It appears to have worked in that it started and finished the installation process, but when I removed the USB stick and booted up again, my laptop tells me it can't detect a bootable device.

I added the USB again and rebooted, started the installation process again but was told that the SSD was already in use and partitioned.

When I check my bios settings, it shows me that the SSD is recognised and shows it by name as a bootable device.

I'm not sure where to go from there.

Yes, it's top of the list.
