The Samsung 970 NVMe M.2 SSD should definitely work on your Acer Nitro 5 Ryzen, this has been covered on an Acer Community thread before, see here (https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/556247/m-2-ssd-wont-show-up-in-bios-boot-list-nitro-5-an515-53-fa)

The Solution from the post above was -

    1. I had to start all over again. I clean installed windows to the original HDD again from a USB, then I formatted and deleted all partitions from the Samsung 970 NVMe M.2 SSD using the program "MiniTool partition wizard".
    2. Then I cloned the HDD to the SSD using "EaseUS todo backup" (which I would suggest that you use the Samsung 'Data Migration' instead first as this software is made for the Samsung 970 NVMe M.2) and the SSD finally showed up in the BIOS, but the HDD didn't.
    3. After that i just formatted the HDD. Hope this helps.
