SSD Upgrade HELP for sf114-32-p30s

I planning on buying this (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07KG4MYJP/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&psc=1) m.2 ssd. Will this work with my laptop or do I have find a specific brand. I've seen screenshots online of user manuals that list SSDs from specific brands (kingston, micron) which are much expensive here. I'm also not sure if I b+m keys will fit or will I need to get m key which I've also seen used for swift 1s. Additionally I've heard that it's possible to install an nvme drive if I disable the emmc flash storage though it doesn't work for everyone, if anyone can confirm this for me that'll be great.

well you need the same slot for m2, and that on amazon is obviously different with swift 1

My Swift SF114-32 came with a Micron M.2 SSD (Micron MTFDDAV256TBN) and I think it has B+M keys.

The P30S model has a 64GB eMMC drive soldered to the motherboard. It looks like the M.2 slot will allow you to add a second drive and it supports NVMe and SATA both. You should be good with a SATA like you linked, or get a bit faster with an NVMe drive. I believe you can boot from either the eMMC or M.2, you just won't be able to swap the 64GB out for a different one.

I forgot to mention that I wanted to clone the emmc to the new drive, would know if I'll run into any issues?
I've read online that the drives have to be a specific size (256gb for nvme, 128gb or 256gb for sata3) or the laptop might not recognize. I'd like to avoid purchasing an new operating system if I could.

Where can I find out which slot I have? I've checked the user manuals but it wasn't mentioned anywhere.

You shouldn't run into any issues cloning the eMMC, it'll be smaller than the new SSD and the issues that crop up with some cloning software is usually in resizing partition down. The drive size isn't limited with any of them, the 128GB/256GB thing is just which drives Acer has shipping in various SKUs. They don't test with drives they aren't going to use, so don't list the larger ones in their compatibility matrix. My Swift is a different model, but I upgraded the M.2 SSD in my desktop from the stock 256GB to a 2TB without any issues. You aren't running a legacy MBR system so you don't have those limits on drive size...

Alright thanks! I ended up ordering a transcend nvme drive so hopefully everything works out.

Just popped back in to let y'all know that NVMEs do not work with this model. Even Acer support was confused about it saying that NVMEs are compatible but after testing they switched their answer, telling me it wasn't compatible the 2nd time I called. Aldo was right the first time around.
