So, here goes.
I have an acer spin sp513-52n, the thing was working fine up until it went flat overnight some months ago.
Charged it and it took about two days before I could get it to work again.
I reset the battery through the pin hole, held down power etc etc.
Now its doing it again.
Yesterday it was working perfectly fine.
I have updated the bios, drivers etc.
I have pulled the battery, cmos and reset it using the hold power down for so long as advised, checked all connectors internally and removed minimal dust.
The issue is, if I use it and shut it down, it just will not turn back on.
Battery is fully charged as there is a blue light when its plugged in.
Tried starting it when its plugged in, nothing.
Tried starting it when its not plugged in, nothing.
It has in the past started weirdly, being that the keyboard lights up, blue light on but no image, turns off and starts all that again about four or five times and
then I get the the acer logo and it boots as normal.
It did that yesterday after about a week of nothing, worked great for about eight hours and now.............. its done it again!
Out of warranty.
What the heck is going on?
Your help would be much appreciated.

When it's in failure mode can you get into the BIOS at all? Typically when you first power on it does enough of POST to get the display up and running. Failures during that process should give beep code. Once the screen is running it puts up the splash screen then finishes POST. When POST is complete it loads the UEFI boot code and runs it in order to figure out where the boot point is. It then launches the OS that UEFI pointed at and you start seeing the juggling balls for a Windows launch. It sounds like yours is either failing at first POST or as the display is initialized. Are you hearing any of the beep codes?

Yeah, if you are not getting into POST at all there's something really bad going on. Either the MB is getting none of that power or it's toast. Most of this type of problem can be traced to the battery, but you've already done pretty much all the diagnostics without a smoking gun. You could potentially OHM out the wires connecting the battery to the MB and the wires connecting the DC input jack to the MB. Yours is just weird enough though that I'm guessing we'll end up tracking it to the MB itself. :(
