  • Hi,
Could you please post the full model name of the laptop, in the meantime go to Bios and check whether you have Advanced option for touchpad in Main tab

    Hi,

    Model Name is:

I already checked bios and touchpad is already on "advanced".

Installing to IO didnt solve it. But I changed touchpad settings in bios from "advanced to "basic" then booted the laptop. After that, i restarted the laptop and went back into bios and changed touchpad back to "advanced". Looks like it did the trick. Im still monitoring it

    It won't.
    Look at my post
    https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/588927/spin-1-touchpad-half-way-working?&breakffcache=74989

    100% hardware problem.
I just opened the cover and it is pretty much exactly as described in a post (mentioned in my post) - one ground connection only despite the fact that touchpad itself has two.
Second one was not connected to the chassis and that side is exactly one that does not work well for me

Now what should we do? Send it back for repairing? But I assume there won't be any repair done since nothing technically is broken. It is just design flaw (that could be fixed relatively easy. But will it?)
Refund?? ACCC? What other options do we have?

    Hi,
It is my first post here so I would like to say hi.
    I have acer spin 1 sp111-32n model no. n17h2
I love this laptop but I have this same issue. And that is why I stopped using it.
If I reboot my laptop touchpad is working fine for few seconds or minutes. Then it is starting to jam. I also think that it can be hardware issue because when I have wet hands it works longer.

    My solution:
    1. go to bios: FN and F2
    2. change touchpad settings to basic
    3. reboot system
Do not change it back to advanced

    It works for now.
If it will stop working I will let you know.

    Hi PlayingPanda,

    # Try to get the BIOS page.
    1. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
    2. You will be in setup utility page.
    3. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
    4. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    5. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    6. Your unit will restart by itself.

Check this T/S and post the result.
