Hello all,

I have an Acer A515-54 & I recently purchased a new external monitor that I am running through the HDMI port.
The problem I am running into is that I cannot achieve the highest available resolution for the external monitor (3440x1440). The highest the laptop will allow is 2560x1440.
I have updated the drivers & installed all Windows updates but I'm still unable to achieve the highest resolution.

I'm not quite sure what else to do. Has anyone tackled this issue before? I combed through prior questions but didn't see anything listed, unless I missed it (which is very possible).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hello,
2560x1440 must be the maximum resolution supported by the HDMI port (version 1.4b).

    Hello,

Believe it or not, Laurent_14, I was actually able to get it to work! Sort of...

I had to dummy it up a little bit. I ended up tweaking the custom resolution for 3440x1440 but had to run with 55hz refresh rate. Not ideal but its primarily for work so the rate is adequate.

Just wanted to make sure I got back to you.
