Hello there, recently i bought WD Blue SN550 SSD and tried to clone every data from my old factory equipped HDD to the new SSD. As i follow the steps as shown on YouTube, the final step is to switch boot priority from the HDD to the new SSD from BIOS. But as shown on the picture below, my BIOS doesn't show any bootable drives but only Windows Boot Manager. I did search I had to switch the boot mode to legacy to show the bootable drives, but this version of BIOS (v1.08) doesn't have any option to switch boot mode to legacy. Also I did set the supervisor password and disable secure boot mode, nothing changes. At this point i'm helpless. Pls halp.

Note:
-I use AOMEI Backupper to clone my HDD to SSD.
-Windows does recognizes the SSD.
-My version of Nitro 5 does support PCIe gen 3X4 .
-BIOS ver. v1.08 is the latest BIOS i found at Acer support page.

  • Hi,
Highlight the second Windows boot manager, press F6 to move it to first position, press F10 to save and exit and see whether it helps, if that doesn't help, move to Advanced tab and click Storage Device configuration and check what options are available.

    Hi,

I've already done that but the boot drive is still the HDD. Also there's another option that writes <null string>, should i try to boot from it?

In the advanced tab, there's HDD0, HDD1, and HDD2. Should i disable HDD0 to force windows to boot from HDD2 (SSD)? Since HDD0 is my old HDD and the default boot drive?

  • Yes, you can disable HDD0 in Advanced tab and see whether it boots with the SSD, if not, you can enable it again, then remove the HDD from the laptop and leave only the SSD and see whether it boots with the SSD.
