Folks,

I have A315-41-R45R with Ryzen 5 CPU. I bought Crucial 8GB Ram and replaced with current 4GB (DDR4-PC4-19200) which came with laptop. After installation the system did not start and threw blue screen and error. Can someone help as I read in the Acer community that this laptop support 8GB ram in existing slot?

    Hi,
Crucial modules are compatible with your laptop, could you please post the model number of the Crucial module you bought, there's another possibility that the module may be a faulty one(DOA), in that case you can return it for replacement.

The Crucial ram is 8GB DDR4-2400 Sodimm
Which I bought after looking at Crucial website however I did not get any concrete information that my laptop support 8 GB ram and hence started this thread. If there is confirmation that A315-41 R45R supports 8 GB ram I would explore option to replace the RAM. Assuming it's faulty.

Your laptop supports up to 32gb of RAM in two slots so each slot supports up to 16gb of RAM, you have bought the correct RAM
Try reseating the RAM that you installed, place it gently but firmly into the slot 2 or 3 times. If that doesn't work send it back because it is probably faulty
The confirmation below is from the official Acer Service Guide for your model
