HELIOS 300 PH315-51-54ED

Hello I bought my acer preditor helios 300 sometime 1 year and a couple of months ago and since last week I've had an issue which seem to have happened for some people however I have tried there fixes and my problem still continues. The problem is that when I leave my laptop alone for a while and then turn it on it will work however after using it for just about over 20-30 minutes if I power it off or put it into sleep mode it will not turn back on. This is the first correlation the second one is that the blue light on the side will always come on for about 6-7 seconds then disappear and the laptop will not boot. The third one is when it does the date and time will be incorrect and powering it off the laptop will not shut down and will sit there with the keyboard glowing and fans spinning unless I hit the power reset button it will not fully shut down.

The fixes I have tried to resolve this problem are:
Battery disconnected with charger in same problem
Charger not plugged but battery connected same problem
CMOS battery replaced same issue
Hard drive taken out same issue
Ram disconnected same issue
Bios updated
Clean laptop same issue

I've contacted acer support but the guy was kinda rude and pushing me to pay a collection fee so it can be taken to get fixed. Has anyone else had this issue and resolved it any help is appreciated.

I suggest you check this out:

a) uninstall these drivers and turn off the notebook;

b) then, reset the battery and place a few layers of electrical tape over this button:

c) check if the problem is solved. If it is not resolved, see version 1.28 of the model an515-52, which has the same motherboard as the model ph315-51: https://www.acer.com/ac/pt/BR/content/support-product/7572?b=1

Yea so I did what you said and same problem my laptop doesn't have that switch but it does have the rubber button but on the lid strangely enough.

OK! From what I understand, the notebook turns on but after some time, when windows hibernates or is suspended, the image is no longer displayed on the display, correct?

No what happens is that I can turn it on and it will boot up after I've taken the battery out of fiddled with something its appearing to be a little random now but after I use it for around 30mins if i turn it off it will not boot up again until i once again disassemble it or leave it for a long time.

I've already had a similar problem here in the community. I'm not sure, but there seems to be a problem with the motherboard or lithium battery. Can you check the battery status with hwinfo64? Have you checked the bios file 1.28?

what do u need to see exactly
To get it to turn on had to take out CMOS and lithium battery

I would like to see the smartbattery guide. But it is necessary that the battery was connected. One question: when you disconnect the lithium battery and the rtc battery, does the problem still occur? If so, can you test with another power adapter?

ive taken the cmos battery out now and will run some test on just using the adpater no battery or cmos connected

I still think there may be a problem with the motherboard. However, I think it is worth trying to update the bios to version 1.28 of the an515-52 model, as both have the same motherboard. But it is necessary that windows have either version 1903 or 1909 installed, see:

just finshed testing it and yes the problem has persisted i will start the updates as you have mentioned

Sorry it wouldn't boot up at all had to wait until all power was drained usual methods didnt work

OK! As you have updated the bios, it is recommended to press f9 to restore it and then f10 to save on exit. This way, you will fix any bugs that may have remained during the update.

How are you using it during these first 30 minutes? Playing games? Web surfing? A combination of both? What happens if you don't turn it off after 30 minutes but keep using it the same way for another 30 minutes? These are symptoms of overheating. Jack E/NJ
