Ports confusion PH315-52

Hi all,

I recently bought the PH315-52 model, ive been searching the net and the manual for more info about the ports and im still confused.

- the manual simply says "usb type c" while some sites say "usb c gen 2", most users here say usb c cant work as a display port but in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKgdxSmbXyM&t=7s he was able to plug in a dock and use the display port there. so can the usb c port on PH315-52 2019 model really work as a display port?

- im not really an expert on ports, all i know is if its blue its usb a type 3. some sites say i have 2x usb a type 3 and 1x usb a type 2. the official acer site simply says 3x usb a ports. all ports i see are blue so im confused which of them are type 3 or 2.

The information supplied below is from the service manual for your model and does not represent my opinion but they are the official Acer specs for your model. The screenshot that you posted above does not appear in any official Acer literature for your model  My apologies on the Gen it is 3.1 gen 2.0

Your model has a SEPARATE Mini Display Port it is NOT integrated into the USB C. 



The USB C capabilities are exactly as I quoted in my previous post. Incidentally these screenshots are directly from The Service Manual for your model.
So to summarize your USB C only supports Charging and Data Transfer, it does not support Thunderbolt, Power Delivery charging, HDMI or Mini Display Port,  Please see below
