There's no microphone sound on laptop Acer Swift SF514-53T

On the notebook, under Settings/Sounds, you can select an input device named "Microphone Array (Intel Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST))".

However, it does not work and does not transmit sounds. The volume bar in this section does not change when you say something.

Also, when I use the Windows Voice recorder for a test, it can't record anything either.

In the "Manage sound devices" section there are two Input devices

1) Microphone Array - Intel Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST)

2) Stereo Mix - Realtek(R) Audio.

And by default "Stereo Mix - Realtek(R) Audio" is marked as disable.

I tried to turn it on, but it doesn't transmit sound either.

Are there any linux builds that are guaranteed to have no problem with sound drivers for this laptop, so that by installing linux you can check the version that the problem is in "driver for windows"?

What is the manufacturer of the microphone for this notebook, anyway? I don't even know where to look for drivers for it ;?

Help me diagnose what's not working right.

In the Realtek Audio Console application, there is an option to switch to the microphone.

I think Realtek Audio Console has not any effect.
I reviewed my Realtek Audio Console and my apps doesn't provide opportunity for manage microphone.

Do any notifications appear in the notification area when you connect a headset?

Have you set privacy permission to allow apps to access to your microphone? It's under settings, privacy.

Every time when I plug in my corded headset, windows open popup with selection of the device role (see attached picture)

Yes. I granted access to microphone for my apps.

I tried that option.

The sound is played to the headphones as it should be, but when you try to use the microphone, it doesn't record anything.

Yes.
I checked.

This service showed message "Testing failed because your microphone could not capture any sounds. Please make sure your microphone is not muted and try again."
Actually I don't see any difference with testing via standard windows "Voice recorder"

@adynertry these steps

1)Type Sound in Windows Start Seach box > Click Sound > Under Recording tab, right click on an empty space and select, Show disconnected devices and Show disabled devices > Select Microphone and click on Properties and make sure that the microphone is enabled > You may also check if the microphone that you are using is set as default.

2. Run Hardware & Devices Troubleshooter
Type Troubleshoot in Windows Start Search box > Click Troubleshoot > Click Hardware & Devices > Run the Troubleshooter

3. Run audio troubleshooting
Type Troublshoot in Windows Start Search box > Troubleshoot > Click Playing Audio > Run the Troubleshooter > Restart once it finishes

4. Set up microphone
Type microphone in Windows Start Search box > Click Set up a Microphone > Select required type of microphone (for internal mic, select Others) > Follow the onscreen directions to set it up

Click yes if problem solved

All that we have done now is to test at the Windows configuration level.
I've done this before. I think it's either the drivers or the hardware problem.
Let's try to get back to my original questions.

@adyner - did you ever get anywhere with this? I have a brand new Acer Spin 5 (SP513-54N) with exactly the same issue. The microphone simply does not work.

@egydiocoelho - happily I can read Portuguese, none of the posts you've linked to help or answer the question - they're dealing with different issues.
