Hey guys. Wondering if someone could help with this. I recently created a recovery usb for my Helios 300 to re-install windows but i had a lot of issues with it. Errors and such. So i installed a clean version of windows. I was wondering if one of you guys had an ISO or something for the factory recovery for this laptop? Or is there somewhere i could find that? I know you can order one from Acer for money but ill be honest i wont be paying for something that should've been in the box in the first place. The clean windows build works fine but i fell like ive lost a lof of fps in games (still above 60 but lower than usual) and i wanted to see if going back to the Acer build helps. Thanks guys!

    Good Morning TheRealestPepito !

OEM systems are not provided separately from the copy that is hidden in the system recovery partition.
For this reason, every user should back up the system with Acer care for future issues of errors, loss or reinstallation.
In this case, just paying for the reinstallation or getting a copy of another device with the same characteristics.

I would recommend a clean install of latest windows - 1909 over the factory version of a 2017 laptop. It would possibly come with 1703 or so and would be so very out of support.
On both my Predator 300 and Nitro 5, I have a clean install of windows and drivers from Acer site.

Do you still have it? If yes, follow this:
    1. Open file explorer and right-click the C drive.
    2. Go to Properties - Tools.
    3. In Error checking, click Check. Follow the instructions.
After it fixes all the errors, run this command in command prompt as admin with internet connected: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.
Then try to do the restore using the recovery drive you created.

Trying to do my best here - Your happy Predator owner =)!

Unfortunately i only have one usb stick and needed it for something else. I will be re-pasting soon since the last time i did it i replaced the thermal pads with the wrong thickness. If anyone has an idea of where to use the 1.0mm pads and where to use the 1.5mm ones on the heatsink, id appreciate your help. Will report back once im done with all this since for the most part the clean windows install runs a lot smoother than the OEM.

Yea thanks ive had a look. Doesnt seem to be the same layout. Im gonna go for 1.5 everywhere except on the VRAM where i'll use 1.0, see how it goes and report back. Still waiting for the pads to arrive.
