Aspire E5-576G - Serial Number not recognized?

I have an Aspire E5-576G.  Out of warranty.  I spilt a drink over the keyboard and now some keys don't work. I am trying to arrange a repair by Acer  but it tells me that the serial number is wrong.  I double checked with the label on the bottom, and the acer care program and I am entering the correct serial number.  Where do I go from here???  Any help welcome.

Check with the acer support. Also check with snid if the sn number is wrong. Also check the below threat regarding the liquid spill.
