So i got my laptop like 1 year ago (predator PH315-51) and ever since i got it, it's been overheating all the time.I tried everything to lower my temps -  turning my fans on max speed, lifting up the laptop, buying a cooling pad ( pretty useless in my opinion) ,using software to undervolt my CPU by lowering it's core voltage offset (temps still remain pretty much the same) ,i also tried Throttlestop by disabling my CPU's turbo boost (that drastically lowered the temps but impacted the fps to the point of constant stuttering and fps drops) , i even replaced the thermal paste on my GPU and CPU as well as cleaned the heatsink and fans.So i was wondering is there any other way to lower my temps without impacting the CPU and GPU performance all that much? Thanks!

It seems you went all usual routes. Maybe you have some program running in background and constantly heating your device, in a mobile device even 5% of cpu usage causes noticeable heat. It may be even a "legit" application, as a security plugin, some malware, or even some windows service misbehaving.

yeah i guess cause i am connected to an external monitor and that keeps the gpu running all the time but still what can do to fix my temps in games?

it's overheating while gaming like really overheating reaching up to 97 degrees celsius 5 minutes into the game and is throttling all the time.I really can't think of anything else to do

You told you undervolted cpu. Did you try using msi afterburner for undervolting gpu? It is well worth.

Besides, look the windows task manager and see if it shows high cpu clocks and usage while in idle (real idle, no applications running at all). And indeed, just using a second monitor causes temps to raise a bit over the "normal".

Yeah but the GPU temps are ok.It'a the CPU that's the problem.

Do you have any browser windows open while you're gaming? I noticed a considerable increase in temperatures when I have several (or many) tabs open in my browser with a game launched. I closed them all (Better OneTab is a convenient Chrome extension for that), and noted a 5-10 degree difference in-game.
