Hello, yesterday from out of nowhere my computer started working very slow and lagging , there was nonstop 100% harddisk usage and the average response time was very high (over 1500 ms). So i reinstall the windows and nothing happens the problem still persists. Can anybody help me with that ? Thank you in advance for your answer.

Check your background programs and post a screen from Task Manager under your "Processes" Tab

You will have to do a clean Windows install, press and hold the Power button until it shuts off. Then turn it back on and don't wait for ACER logo, immediately press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key. The blue recovery screen should appear. Click Troubleshoot then "Reset this PC" then "Keep my Files" Video link of process below

It says "the drive on which windows is installed is locked.  unlock the drive and try again."

iViMaister do you have an hdd only or also a ssd if only hdd you need to probably buy a m.2 ssd and upgrade it clone the hdd into the ssd the hdd's are really slow for windows 10 regarding  the locked drive its really weird check the hidden oem folder in your c drive for anything useful there also get a 16gb usb drive and try to create an acer stock recovery drive via care center (if you can boot into windows at all even on safe mode) but seems to me your uefi bcd file its damaged check here for a possible solution or you can also google it this issue has nothing to do with acer its your windows bcd that got corrupted somehow you have to fix/rebuild your bcd/mbr

    Hi @iViMaister,
You can use Windows Media creation tool to download Windows 10 and create a bootable USB disk, boot with the USB disk and follow the prompts, select keep everything, please follow the instructions for creating a bootable disk in the tutorial below. You need to have access for another Windows PC/laptop to carry out this task, if you don't have access to another Windows PC, you may have to get help from local Repair shop.

    Hi @iViMaister
then I think you have to go for a M.2 SSD as @xapim has already suggested.
  • Would it be interesting for you to inform your version of windows? Example 1803, 1809, 1903 or 1909?

    1607 , but i am updating to 1903
  • The 1607 version of windows is very old and maybe that's why you are experiencing the 100% disk problem. Before upgrading the disk, it is important to back up your files.
