Install Windows 10 - New SSD - How to transfer Windows into new SSD - Acer Nitro 5 AN515-52

Hello everyone and happy new year.

I got an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-52

General Spec

HDD - 1TB

and through advices of the community, I have bought an 1TB SSD NVMe and ready to install it into the laptop

I saw a Youtube video on how to install the SSD.

I was wondering if anyone could advice me how to best transfer my current Windows 10 (from my current normal hard drive) on to the new SSD?

Hi,
If you want to use Minitool partition wizard, temporarily disable Kaspersky and enable it after migration completed, if you want to use Macrium reflect, manually drag the partitions one by one to the destination disk(new SSD), follow the instructions in the link, you need to scroll down to page 141, when you drag the partitions, you need to drag all the partitions in your current HDD.

Hi,
You can use Migrate feature in Minitool Partition wizard free programs, down load and install Minitool Partition wizard in your current HDD, run it and choose Migrate feature to transfer everything from your HDD to M.2 SSD, then go to BIOS, move to Boot tab and change the boot order to make the new M.2 SSD as your first boot device.

Install Macrium Free

Click Backup
Select "create image of partitions required to backup and restore windows"
It will show windows disk selected
You can back this up to a file and restore to the new disk (as in first picture)
OR... click on "clone disk" as in pic 2 and select the target disk (your new SSD)
Reboot --> BIOS --> Enable F12 --> Select SSD
Alternately --> BIOS --> Select SSD as first option for boot

So simple... I did this when i installed an SSD on my Nitro 5 and moved the Windows from the default 1 TB HDD to SSD.

Many thanks for both of your advices

@brummyfan2 - I installed the Mini Partition Wizard, but Kaspersky found an adware "dealply" in the software and it goes crazy in removing it.

@sri369 - I installed Macrium Reflect, and tried to Clone to Partition, but it keep come up with Error 0 - Unable to match partition.
I was wondering if you happen to know how to fix this error.

Just an update and feedback.

After many hours, it is done.

New SSD is in, migrated OS over and now Windows 10 and Photoshop load extremely faster.

Minitool Partition worked great as @brummyfan2 have recommended. As his mentioned in his msg above, have to disable Anti-virus while doing the cloning. Then just uninstalled Minitool Partition and active the Anti-virus again.
