Acer Swift 3 SF314-54 Battery randomly died and now only works when plugged in

Hi guys, I was wondering if there was any way to resolve the above issue without having to send it in?
- Only had the laptop for a year (was concerned about battery life given that when i first had it delivered, it felt like a block of ice, but was assured that this was fine).
- had been completely fine before, always in battery savings mode, never left to charge above 100%. Barely use this device.
- at time of laptop shutting down, had one mouse (which lights up) plugged in, and the charger. Total charge would have been *70%.
- Tried to start up, and reset battery using paperclip. But only starts when plugged in now. Doesn't charge perpetually 0%)
Would very much appreciate any advice.
