Hi guys I need your help mates I was performing a bios update for my 3 month old laptop which I love the Helios 300 2019 and suddenly the power in my house went down during the update process i had before disconnected the battery because iam using always the laptop plug in and dont want to force recharging the battery I don’t use daily ...
so to put in a nutshell I’ve got now a bricked bios laptop fans spinning : reboot process loop blank screen .

i have tested ram, hdd, ssd, screen and MOBo everything is fine the culprit is  the broken bios ...

so I download the the last bios 1.08 and extracted the FD file ...

now iam stucked should I rename the file to BIOS.fd should I leave the name aka Covini108.fd ? Should I do a crisis recovery usb ? Or just the FD file on a bootable FAT32 usb stick will suffice ?

the keys on a acer predator 2019 are still the same as before on most laptop aka “ FN+ESC” ?

thank you in advance for your help ...

    Good Morning saltinbank !

First, what was the need to upgrade to Bios?

Bios upgrades are extremely delicate and risky processes and should only be performed in serious cases of serious system errors or extreme need for correction or compatibility.
Other than that this is a process that should be avoided as much as possible, especially if your machine is working perfectly.

The correct way is to charge the battery 100%, plug the device into a power outlet and perform as an administrator.

In this case, Bios actia s files do not have direct support for flash update Bios.
Only via .EXE on the operating system.

Then just sending the device so that Acer can reinstall Bios.

Remember that trying to force a flash can easily lead to the total destruction of the board and its components.

you can perform a bios recovery via a usb ...
Plenty of people have recovered their bricked bios by this way ...
I know hardware i dont need acer ...

I need only th instructions to do it by my self or will use a flash programmer ...
Iam not a rookie by the way ...

    Not exactly...
Most current files do not have base instruction codes so that the file (even changing the name) can perform a flash update.
This is because Bios developers are removing such instructions for security reasons because the standardization of the UEfi base replaces the common Bios.
So in many cases it will not work the way you believe it.
Alternate ways would be to use an eprom rewriter or open the programmatic-based Bios files and change lines and flags.
But they are alternatives that violate equipment warranty.

If you had read AUCA (which I certainly read) would have known that neither I, nor any forum member works for Acer or we represent legally.
All here are only users who can read and respect the company and forum rules.

i dont care i have a modded bios and the lock is not active
Iam not a regular user as i said : all lock bits are disabled on my bios ....

    Insyde BIOS Recovery

    1. ) Obtain the correct BIOS file for your system. The file extension will usually be one of the following: “.fd” “.rom” “.bin” “.wph”
2.) Please see paragraph 3 to determine what you should rename the BIOS file to.
3.) Copy the renamed BIOS file to an EMPTY USB flashdrive. If the flashdrive is not empty or is incorrectly formatted, the recovery process may fail.

4.) Disconnect the AC power adapter and, in the case of a laptop, remove the battery as well.

5.) Insert the USB flashdrive into one of the USB ports on the computer. In most cases, the particular USB port that you use will not matter. That being said, some computers are finicky and will only accept a specific USB port for recovery.

6.) With all power sources disconnected from the computer, hold down the ‘Windows’ key and the ‘B’ key. Do not release these keys until instructed to do so.

7.) Connect the AC power adapter to the computer.

8.) Press the ‘Power’ button on the computer.

9.) When the LED’s illuminate, you may release the two keys from step #6. You may notice some of the LED’s illuminating differently from how they do in normal computer operation.

10.) After about 10 seconds, the computer should start reading the flashdrive. While searching for the file system, the computer may (should) beep for one second. The number of beeps can vary based on the capacity of the flashdrive as well as the number of files on it. If the BIOS file is not found, the computer will reboot and try again.

11.) If the file is found, the computer will load it. The particular computer used in this tutorial took 12 seconds to load the BIOS file, but times can vary based on the size of the BIOS image. No beeps will be heard during this process.

12.) After the computer is finished loading the BIOS file, it will start flashing the BIOS. During this process, the computer will beep every 2 seconds. The computer used in this tutorial took about 32 seconds. About 5 seconds after the flashing process has finished, the computer will shutdown. If the recovery process was successful, then the BIOS should work normally the next time you boot up the computer.

*NOTE: Not all devices will produce beeping sounds during the recovery process. The USB flashdrive LED should still blink on and off while the computer is loading the BIOS image. If the loading process is successful, the computer should shutdown within the next minute. For larger BIOS images, this may take longer.
